Workouts do not always transfer because workouts are clean and games are messy.
In a workout, you know the next rep. In a game, you have to read the defender, the help, the clock, and your own nerves.
Add mess to your workouts. Start tired. Add a defender. Add a consequence. Make decisions before shots. Do not just train the move. Train the moment.
Then judge progress by whether the game feels a little slower.
Skill is not finished until it survives chaos.
