“My parents care so much that it makes basketball stressful.”
Elijah's answer
That is a hard spot because they probably mean well.
But love can still feel heavy when every car ride turns into a film session. You start playing for the conversation after the game instead of the game itself.
Pick a calm time and tell them one specific thing that helps. Say, "After games, I need ten minutes before we talk basketball." Or, "Ask me what I learned before you tell me what you saw."
Do not attack them. Give them a role that actually helps you.
Parents are supposed to be support. Not another scoreboard.
